Maintenance of V-Belts

Typically made of durable materials such as metal or high-strength plastic, a tensioner pulley is designed to withstand the demanding environment of an engine bay, including high temperatures and vibrations. Its primary function is to keep the serpentine belt taut, ensuring it maintains contact with the various pulleys it interacts with.

The 4PK belt plays a critical role in the smooth functioning of several engine components. By connecting various pulleys, it enables the efficient transmission of power needed for the operation of essential systems. Without a properly functioning belt, these components may not operate effectively, leading to costly repairs and reduced vehicle performance.

The alternator belt, sometimes called the serpentine belt, winds around multiple pulleys and can drive not only the alternator but also the water pump, power steering pump, and air conditioning compressor. Like the timing belt, the alternator belt also face wear and tear over time. Regular inspection is essential to ensure it remains in good condition.
